Individually

Our butterflies arrive pre-packed in Individual Release Boxes, which include free personalization with your choice of color printing. Tie the vows by having your guests release the butterflies to commemorate the new beginning! This unique approach allows guest participation creating an event that will be forever remembered. The more butterflies you order, the more guests can actively participate, creating a memorable experience for all. We ship our butterflies in glassine envelopes or in decorative cardstock boxes. The individual release boxes are approximately 3"x3"and do not include the appliqué blue butterfly as shown below.
Glassine envelopes are available upon request during checkout.

Many customers print the names of the bride and groom along with the event date. We can print virtually any quote on the individual release boxes. We also can print the text in custom colors. We currently have Black, Brown, Green, Blue, Red, Orange, Lavender, Pink and Purple to print with. Just specify the color preference and personalization during the checkout process.

If you want a dazzling release that can be handled by just a few select guests, let them all out at once using a mass release box! If you want the butterflies to arrive loose inside the mass release box, please specify so when ordering. Otherwise they will arrive in individual release boxes. The size of the mass release boxes range from 5"x5"x3" up to 8"x8"x8". The largest box can accommodate up to 100 butterflies.

Our butterflies are shipped overnight express and will arrive the day before your event. For example, if your event is on a Sunday, the butterflies will arrive on Saturday. The only exception is for Monday and Tuesday events. For Monday releases, they will arrive on Saturday, and for Tuesday releases, they will arrive on Tuesday morning. The butterflies are shipped in an insulated cooler with a freezer pack. This safe and proven method of shipping ensures a healthy arrival of your butterflies!

The USDA has imposed restrictions on the transit of live butterflies from state to state. Please note that in some circumstances, butterflies might have to be substituted for one another in order to comply fully with USDA regulations.

Order Size Recommendation

The best rule of thumb is to order 1 butterfly for every two guests. For example, if you are having 100 guests, we recommend ordering at least 50 butterflies. If you are planning on an individual release, we recommend having 1 butterfly per guest.

Weather Restrictions

Butterflies should not be released if the temperature is below 65 degrees Fahrenheit (about 19 degrees Celsius) or at night. Releasing them at temperatures below 65 degrees will cause them to fly sluggish. If you release them at night, the butterflies may not fly at all. Please visit this link to check historical temperature averages for your release location. We recommend ordering butterflies well in advance while relying on our weather policy in the possibility of unfavorable conditions.

Additionally butterflies should not be released at night, as they will not fly without light. Please visit this link to check the estimated sunrise and sunset times for your release location.  Also, there needs to be at least 30 minutes of sunlight left prior to release.

Weather/Cancellation Policy

Unlike most of our competitors, we will accept cancellations for bad weather with no penalty!

We will gladly refund your entire cost as long as the order is cancelled at least 6 days prior to your event date. For example, if the event is on a Saturday, the order must be cancelled by Monday at the latest. After the 6th day, there will be a 50% cancellation fee. We will verify weather conditions before cancellation. To cancel an order for weather, please Email Us.

There is a $25.00 cancellation fee for all non-weather related cancellations. Orders cancelled within 10 days of the event for non-weather related issues will be charged a 50% cancellation fee rather than the flat $25.00. For complete information, please visit our Terms and Conditions of Sale.

We guarantee that you will receive vibrant, healthy butterflies for your special event. All orders include extra butterflies in the unlikely event that some should perish during shipping.
